The High Throughput DNA Sequencing and Genomics facility supports scientific research at the University of Oregon by offering genetic and genomic technologies. We provide in-house services and have available specialized equipment. Our services include Sanger DNA sequencing, microarray-based genotyping, microarray printing, robotics for high throughput manipulation of DNA samples, and next generation Illumina-based high throughput DNA sequencing and associated bioinformatics.
Facility Services
Illumina Sequencing
Our facility currently operates an Illumina HiSeq 2000, a next generation DNA sequencer with the ability to run two 8-lane flowcells at a time yielding 200 million reads from each of the 16 lanes. We offer read lengths from 50 to 150 nucleotides for both single-read and paired-end sequencing.
